I was sitting on my patio in Colorado watching the clouds one afternoon, and I thought to myself, "I think I will write a song about a cloud..."

I put together some chords and wrote a little tune. When I finished writing the song I played through it to find that God wanted to show me a very cool lesson through these clouds...

A cloud is formed by absorbing water from various large bodies of water: lakes, oceans, etc... It absorbs the water, the wind then blows the filled cloud over land, and the cloud then releases it`s water onto the earth. The water that rains down from the cloud is used to nourish and fill the earth...

Clouds are very similar to believers: Jesus tells us in John 4:14, "whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thrist; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up into eternal life..."

And He says again in John 7:37-38, "If any man is thirsty let him come to me and drink... From his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water..."

When we come to Jesus in His Word, in prayer, in fellowship we are being filled with a living water. But just as a cloud soakes up the water and doesn`t hold it inside forever, we too must let it overflow from our lives, and water the seeds God has planted in the hearts of people everywhere.

Jesus calls us to share His love with a hurting world that desperately thirsts for Him... we truly have a treasure in earthen vessels (2 Cor. 4:7), and we need to share that treasure with the world.

In Jude 12 the "ungodly" are referred to as "Clouds without rain, carried along by the winds..." Don`t be a cloud without rain. Come to Jesus, and allow Him to fill you with His Spirit. That you may be full to overflowing with love, joy, peace, kindness, righteousness, and all the fruits that come as a result of being filled with His Spirit... His living water...
