I was so blessed during my devotions this morning… I was reading Psalm 40... I encourage you to read that Psalm today, it is SO good!
Verse 1-3:
“I waited patiently for the Lord… He heard my cry… He put a new song in my mouth-praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord…”
If you find yourself in some hard circumstances right now… first of all know that you aren’t alone ;)… and WAIT patiently for the Lord. Hardships aren’t overcome by our efforts and “human” strength, but they are overcome by Jesus.
So wait for Him to work, because He hears your cry. Even if you feel like your prayers are hitting a wall, know that they aren’t! Your prayers are carried by the Spirit right into the heart of our Father in heaven. He is the Almighty, Sovereign God and He knows your circumstances, burdens and sorrows…
and He wants to put a new song in your mouth - A song of praise to our God! As you wait on Him, Cry out to Him and trust Him He will come and fill your heart with a peace and joy beyond comprehension!!!! That overflows into praise!
Many will see HIM working in your life, and they will also trust Him! Let God bring beauty from your ashes, and let your life be a testimony to all who see.
I needed this scripture today… the Lord knew I needed it too! :) When we are in tough circumstances we are called to stand still and wait for His salvation. Waiting is hard, but when we stand still the Son will rise on the darkness and confusion we face.
Be Blessed today as you stand still and behold His salvation! And know that I (and many others) are standing still with you!

…They took Him (Jesus) along in a boat as He was, and other little boats were also with Him.
A great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him, and said to Him “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”
Then He arose and rebuked the wind and said, “Peace, be still.” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
I love this passage in Mark… it’s such a good encouragement for us as believers. I was reading this today for my devotions, and I just had to share it with all of you.
The first thing we see is that they got into the boat with Jesus, they didn’t leave Him behind but took Him with them into the sea. It is so important that we realize that we take Jesus everywhere we go… The movies, shopping, coffee, parties. I know there have been times for me when I am getting ready to do something and I really stop and ask myself, “Is this something Jesus would want to do, or would like to go to?” I think that’s just a good reminder to keep the motives of our heart in check before Him.
Also, it says there were other little boats with Him in sea. I great windstorm arises and everyone starts to really get freaked out. Now, there wasn’t just one boat out floundering in a huge empty sea, but there were “other boats” in the storm. Sometimes we feel like we are so alone in our trials and hardships, but when we get into church and fellowship we quickly realize there are many others floating in the storm. And then what a great thing it is to call upon Jesus together! Wow, I love that. If you are struggling and are feeling totally alone, go to church. Go immerse yourself in the body of Christ and look around to know you are not the only boat.
Of course, Jesus comes to the rescue. He wakes up and with three words changes everything, “Peace, be still”. It’s amazing how when we call on Jesus, and He speaks, our circumstances get a right perspective. We have Jesus! Who can speak and calm the weather!!! We have Jesus! Who can heal a man without even touching him!!! We have Jesus! Who can bring to life what is dead… we have Jesus. Would you call on Him today in the midst of the storm? Because “All who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”

I was sledding today with my nieces... we had SO much fun! But as the day went on they slowly started to recognize the steep hill they had to continually climb to enjoy the ride down. Their legs were getting tired, and they began to think of how nice it would be to go home and have some hot chocolate... but the walk home was a long one.
We began the trek in the 4 feet of snow. I pulled one of the sleds in front of them to try and make their walk easier by flattening the snow, but it was still just a hard walk. As I heard their groans of tiredness behind me I began to think of how Jesus goes before us and paves the way for us to walk... but that doesn`t mean it will always be easy. Sometimes following Jesus means deep drifts of snow and cold days. BUT He is still right there with us carving out the path we are to walk, and we get to walk it with Him!
One of my nieces finally fell over and began to cry as her boot was falling off her foot, and the cold snow soaked into her dry sock. I stopped, turned around, put her boot on her foot, wiped her cold nose with some tissue I had in my pocket, pulled her to her feet and told her to keep coming and think about the hot chocolate that was waiting for her not too far ahead.
And again I thought of how Jesus does that for us. When we are tired and weak, He is right there to pull us to our feet, love us with patience, and remind us of what we are living for: Eternity with Him!
And guys... IT`S NOT TOO FAR AHEAD!!!!
Be Blessed today as you walk with Jesus, and fix your eyes on Him... knowing that He paves the path beneath your feet.
John 10:4
“And when He brings out His own sheep, He goes before them; and the sheep follow Him, for they know His voice…”

I like to jog about every other day… so, I went for a jog today :)
And while I am running whenever I get tired, discouraged, or in pain I tell myself, “This is just like that time in life when you were struggling, but you pressed on and got through it!” – I do talk to myself when I am running, hehe.
So, today I was running, and as I turned the corner to head home I got a REALLY bad side ache. Well, consequently I had a rough day today… so I – of course – started talking to myself. “C’mon, you’re almost there… just like your day today… but you made it through, you can do this – get through the side ache!”
As I was saying this I thought of what I am actually supposed to do when I get a side ache – how do I get rid of this pain? And I recalled that when you’re running and you get a side ache, the best remedy is to throw your hands in the air, over your head, and wait for the pain to subside.
Then… that still, small, Jesus voice came to me… In my life when I am put in hard situations that are painful, I am called to put my hands in the air for the best pain reliever: WORSHIP.
I want to encourage you guys with what God encouraged me with today… in hard times, PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR to worship the LORD.
Job 1:21

Well, I just got home from Canada (I love it there)… and God did such a cool work in my heart at the conference in BC.
And I just want to encourage you all to seek the Lord – He is working in every circumstance!
Here are some verses that were a great encouragement to me this past week, and I pray they encourage you! :)
2 Chron. 16:9
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”
Haggai 2:5
“…So My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!”
John 8:31-32
“…If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Matthew 6:33-34
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it’s own things. Sufficient for the day is its own troubles.”
1 Timothy 1:17
“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”
Be blessed as you seek His face!

So, I have just started reading “The One Year Bible”… and I LOVE it. I am reading in Ezekiel right now for my November dates, and thought I’d share what the Lord spoke to my heart as I read…
Ezekiel 39:12-13
“And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying them, that they may cleanse the land. Yes, all the people of the land shall burry them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, says the Lord God…”
Now, what the house of Israel is burying is the dead bodies of the people who have come upon them to destroy them. The Lord delivers Israel from the men of Gog, and now all of Israel is covered with dead bodies.
This reminded me of all that the Lord has delivered me from. God has saved me from the snares of sin that desire to destroy me. Yet even though the sin in my life may be dead, it doesn’t mean that it has been buried. Sometimes as believers we allow certain sin to lay around in our hearts, and it begins to stink and wear on us. This is what God spoke to me as I read this… to burry the dead things in my heart and let them be gone - just as He has forgiven my sin, and thrown it as far as the east is from the west.
I encourage you, that if there is an old sin, or just plain “dead things” laying around in your heart that you can still smell and feel… come before God today, and burry it. Allow God to walk around in your heart, and “cleanse the land”.
Jesus says in John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." This means Jesus came to set us free (Isaiah 61:1), and He wants us to live our lives in the freedom He gives!
Be free today, and walk in His grace!

Fall is here! Fall is my favorite season. I love to see the leaves changing colors, there’s a cool, crisp breeze in the air, the birds begin to migrate south...
Different seasons bring different tidings – winter brings cold and snow, spring brings new life: budding flowers and trees, summer brings warm, lush, colorful and sweet surroundings, fall represents a turning back into the cold dark time of winter… but every season has it’s own beautiful purpose. Would I appreciate the fall without the summer? Would spring have its joyful tone without the winter?
In the same way this earth is constantly turning with seasons, so our lives are constantly turning with different seasons. There are times of great joy, there are times of great sorrow. There are times of rest, and there are times of hard work… Job came before the Lord in a season of loss, sorrow, and despair with this phrase,
Job 1:21
“The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Every season comes from the Lord… but how do we respond to God’s work in our lives? Are you going through a season of trial? Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Are you going through a season of joy? Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Are you going through a season of loss? Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Are you going through a season of loneliness? Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Are you in a season of abundance? Blessed be the name of the Lord!
God is seated on His throne, He is still in control. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose…”
God is working. Trust Him, and thank Him today for His faithfulness!
I find myself in a season of “travel” right now. I thank you all so much for your prayers while I was away in England – the Lord did a great work in my life as well as others. There are many more retreats, conferences, and church services yet to come this year… I SO appreciate your prayers as I will be traveling around. May none of us lose heart by looking at our circumstances when we need to keep our eyes on Jesus! Circumstances, like seasons, come and go; BUT Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever!!! His love will never fail, and He is always there!
Be blessed today as you fix your eyes on Him!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace
